The expansion by Japanese precision processing companies into Asia rapidly increased in the 1980s, with this market remaining highly active today. In response to this expansion into the Asian region by Japanese precision processing companies, Shimomura Tokushu Seiko Co., Ltd. (STS) established Oriental Shimomura Drawing (M) SDN.BHD. (OSD), commencing operations in Penang, Malaysia in 1990, and Shimomura Tokushu Seiko Suzhou Co., Ltd. (STSS) in Suzhou, which began operations in Suzhou, China in 2002. More recently, it commenced operations at Daido Shimomura Steel Manufacturing Co.,Ltd. (DSST) in Chonburi, Thailand in 2019. By creating the same production environment as mother plants in Japan, it is possible to supply products to the same quality levels as those in Japan, with Shimomura thus providing products and services that meet customer needs.
